No more wristbands!
We've reserved
a lot of space for racers and their support crews and we've simplified
the administration of such a large group of people attending the race,
renting RV/Tent spaces and enjoying all the facilities.
Here's how it works: RV/Tent
sites will be sold at a reduced rate, by reservation.
Each
RV/Tent sites with utilities will be sold to a single individual who
will have control over who will be allowed to camp/park in that site
and who will have access to the site's utilities. Camping (Tent) spots
with water on site are $35 a night while RV/Tent sites w/water, elec.
and sewer hook-ups will be $48/night (with a maximum of 6 people per
site) pre-paid reservation. Campers will have access to hot showers
and bathrooms
RV/Tent sites with utilities will go fast, so reservations are recommended.
Call Vail Lake Village & Resort at (877)-999-VAIL (8245).
Here's a link to Vail
Lake's website and a link to a map
of the campsites on Vail Lake's website. The campsites are located
in the Merlot Mesa and the Oaks. The Start/Finish Area is located near
the pools. Sites 208-222 are reserved for Solo racers and sites 168
&169 are reserved for the EMS/Ambulance Base Station.
In addition to the amenities listed above, you'll
also have access to swimming pools, miniature golf, arcade, horseshoe
pits, and a gourmet market & deli.
Hotel Lodging
There are hotels and motels in the nearby town of Temecula (8-9 miles
away), but these facilities are not ideal for teams or their support
crews to use during the race because the travel time will cut into what
little time racers have between laps. But any of the Temecula
Hotels and motels would work fine for spectators and off-duty support
crew.
24 Hour Food Service: Feed
that Motor!
Vail Lake's fine-foods deli will be open round-the-clock with a full
complement of sandwiches, pastas and beverages. Plus, they'll have their
big Bar-B-Q fired up, for your dining pleasure. Check back closer to
the race and we'll have their entire 24 Hours of Vail Lake menu posted.
