24 Hour Race Sponsors

When I first started the Original 24 Hours of Canaan in 1992, I figured that entry fees for the race would more than cover my expenses and that any sponsorship sales would be “gravy”, “icing on the cake,” “pure profit.” Boy, was I wrong. I had WAY underestimated the costs of producing the race. I lost money for the
first three years, trying to grow the event into a profitable enterprise. In hindsight, it’s clear to see that without the financial support of sponsors, this awesome event would not have been possible. I would have gone “belly-up.” That’s just the plain truth of the matter.

Despite the size of this event (and in many ways because of the size of this event), sponsorships have become a vitally important. Financial support from our sponsors covers nearly half of our operating budget. In a very real sense, they make our races happen and they keep the cost of entry fees down.

What do sponsors get out of all this? They get to give something back to the hard-core, grass-roots riders and racers who have made them successful. They get to spend time with you and get to know the folks that make up their market. And, they get to have you know them as more than a just a good brand name but also as companies that share your core values and your love for the sport.

Granny Gear Productions has earned one of the best reputations in the industry by adhering to high standards of quality and service. When we court sponsors, we go for companies who represent these same ideals. Take a look at the list of logos on this page. Can you point to one company that hasn’t built their success on their undisputed dedication to quality? Doesn’t it make you proud to have companies like these sponsoring your event?

In this day and age of competitive, consumer driven markets, brand loyalty is the name of the game. Here are the brands that you can feel good about being loyal to because they share your enthusiasm for this great sport and they recognize the impressive effort that you and your teammates are about to undertake. They’re
here to support you. There’s no real reason not to return the favor.
