In seventeen years time this race has become one of the single greatest mountain bike races in the history of the sport. Each year, thousands of racers, support crew, and spectators have made the pilgrimage to Moab to enjoy this amazing event.

In this lastest 2011 edition, a precipitous drop in attendence put the continuation of this spectacular event in question. This possibility was announced in pre-event communique #4. A post-event update was send out in a Late November Communique.

A final determination about the future of the event will be made, and announced in our next communique, after reviewing the survey. Meanwhile, get involved in the conversation. Join us on facebook, or contribute you thoughts and ideas and and, add yourself to our mailing list to be sure to get the most up-to-date announcements.

Stay Tuned!

Many thanks to Jim McGillis at moablive.com. Jim set-up web-cams and provided real-time video snapshots during the event. Here below is an animated gif (about 40 of the thousands of frames shot) showing the progression of the race under the log-tent. Check out Jim's Blog on the 2011 edition of The 24 Hours of Moab.

The course is world-class; high-desert racing at its finest, as scenic as it is challenging. In this case, a picture is worth more than a thousand words... (mouse over for a night view)

Roll over to toogle between day and night
